RG&E encourages eligible customers to enroll in programs that can help them reduce their bill. EAP enrollment is open year-round. Customers who currently receive assistance programs, including Federal Public Housing Assistance, HEAP, SNAP, SSI, and other eligible programs, may automatically qualify for EAP. While EAP is designed for low-income customers enrolled in other assistance programs, EEAP is intended to help moderate-income households reduce their energy burden by providing credits directly to their energy bills. EEAP is available to eligible households that do not qualify for or are not currently enrolled in any EAP-accepted programs.
The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded program that helps eligible households cover energy costs. HEAP is expected to open on November 2.
Interview opportunities are available ahead of the event. Please contact Alexis Arnold, RG&E senior manager of communications, at 585.953.3159 or alexis.arnold@avangrid.com to schedule an interview ahead of Monday’s event. An RG&E representative will also be available to interview at Monday’s event.
