The City of Rochester, MVP Health Care, and National Fitness Campaign (NFC), today unveiled a new Fitness Court®, located in Genesee Valley Park, nearby the playground at 1316 Genesee St. The Fitness Court is an outdoor gym that lets users leverage their own body weight to get a complete workout using seven exercise stations.

Created for adults of all abilities aged 14+, the Fitness Court workouts are adaptable for all fitness levels and allow participants to move at their own pace. Users also may download the free Fitness Court® App which acts as a “coach-in-your-pocket” and enhances the outdoor gym into a digitally supported wellness experience.

“This new Fitness Court in Genesee Valley Park is an investment in the health of the Rochester community,” said Mayor Malik D. Evans. “It joins the Fitness Court in Cobbs Hill Park, and in numerous City R-Centers, parks, and trails, to provide accessible opportunities for residents to stay active. Thank you to MVP Health Care and National Fitness Campaign for advancing equitable health and wellness for all who call Rochester home.”

“The launch of the MVP Health Care Fitness Court in Genesee Valley Park is a step towards providing access to resources that can change the trajectory of someone’s health and wellness journey,” said MVP Health Care’s Senior Director of Commercial Sales and Account Management, Matt Leegan. “As a leading health care services company, investing in our local communities and offering new, innovative wellness options like the Fitness Court reinforces our commitment to giving back to the people we serve and places we call home. We are proud to partner with NFC and the City of Rochester to bring this unique opportunity to the local community and look forward to seeing you on the Fitness Court.”

“We are excited to have the City of Rochester join us in the journey to improve health and wellness as we work to make a powerful and long-lasting impact on health outcomes and happiness by building healthy communities across America,’’ said Mitch Menaged, founder of National Fitness Campaign. “The addition of the outdoor Fitness Court, along with digital wellness programming, demonstrates a tremendous commitment to the health and wellbeing within the community.”
