Pursuit and Gun Arrest

Rochester, NY - Yesterday afternoon, Officers received information that 21-year old Loujack Crowder was illegally possessing a firearm. Around 5pm, Officers from the Tactical Unit observed Crowder entering a 2013 Nissan in the 100 block of Sherwood Avenue. Officers stopped the car on Normandy Avenue, but as they approached the vehicle, it sped off, striking an Officer’s arm. A traffic pursuit ensued, during which time Crowder threw a backpack out of the car in the 300 block of Flint Street. Crowder eventually ran from the vehicle on Columbia Avenue and was safely taken into custody. Inside of the backpack, Officers recovered a 7.62 caliber Micro-Draco firearm, which was loaded with 26 rounds and capable of firing in a fully automatic mode.

Crowder, who is on Federal Probation, was transported to the Monroe County Jail, arraigned in Rochester City Court, and is currently being held on $10,000 bail.

Loujack Crowder, age 21, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree, and multiple violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
