Kodak Black Arrested on Florida Drug Trafficking Charge

ORLANDO, Fla. — Rapper Kodak Black, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, was arrested this week in Central Florida on a felony drug trafficking charge involving MDMA, according to court and jail records.

Authorities say the 28-year-old artist was booked into the Orange County Jail on Wednesday after an investigation connected to a November 2025 incident in Orlando. Prosecutors allege Kapri trafficked more than 10 grams but less than 200 grams of MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy or molly.

According to police reports, officers responded to calls of gunfire near the Children’s Safety Village in Orlando and searched vehicles located at the scene. Investigators said they discovered a pink bag containing suspected MDMA, cash, documents bearing Kapri’s name, and other items allegedly linked to the rapper through social media posts. Authorities also reported finding fingerprints on a prescription bottle recovered during the investigation.

Kapri has pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial. A judge reportedly set bond at $75,000, citing his prior felony history.

His attorney, Bradford Cohen, disputed the allegations and argued the case lacks sufficient evidence. Cohen said the rapper was not inside the vehicles when they were searched and described the arrest as a “coordinated surrender” tied to an older investigation.

The arrest marks the latest in a long series of legal troubles for Kodak Black, who rose to national prominence with hits including “Tunnel Vision,” “No Flockin,” and “Super Gremlin.” In 2021, then-President Donald Trump commuted the rapper’s federal prison sentence related to firearms charges.

In recent years, Kapri has also faced arrests involving oxycodone trafficking allegations, probation violations, and drug possession cases in Florida.

As of Friday, no additional court dates had been publicly announced.
