A second suspect in last year’s brutal quadruple homicide in Irondequoit, which claimed the lives of two children, has been extradited to Western New York from the Dominican Republic.

Luis Francisco Soriano, 31, was flown back to the United States on Saturday, July 26, and turned over to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, officials announced Monday. He is now being held at the Monroe County Jail.
Soriano was apprehended on June 4 in the Dominican Republic at the request of U.S. authorities. He faces multiple felony charges in connection with the August 31, 2024, killings, including four counts each of first- and second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of first-degree kidnapping, and two counts of first-degree arson.
The charges stem from the slayings of four individuals — including two children, ages 2 and 4 — in a home in Irondequoit, a suburb just northeast of Rochester. The case shocked the community and prompted an international manhunt for Soriano, who was believed to have fled the country shortly after the killings.
The U.S. Marshals Service, in coordination with the Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs, played a key role in securing Soriano’s extradition. Additional assistance came from law enforcement partners in the Dominican Republic, the U.S. Marshals Puerto Rico Violent Offender Task Force, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and the Irondequoit Police Department.
The first suspect in the case, who has not been publicly named in this release, was apprehended in the United States and is already facing prosecution.
The quadruple homicide remains one of the most high-profile and disturbing crimes in recent memory in Monroe County. Authorities have not disclosed a motive but indicated that the investigation remains active.
The Justice Department praised the coordinated efforts that led to Soriano’s arrest and extradition, calling it a testament to international cooperation in the pursuit of justice.
No court date for Soriano's arraignment was immediately announced.
