Murder Investigation: Genesee River Trail

Rochester, NY - Lake Section officers received information regarding a possible deceased person in the area of Vincent Street near the Genesee River Trail. While checking the wooded area near the Genesee River Trail, south of the Bausch Street Bridge, officers located the body of an unidentified male.

Upon preliminary investigation, it appears the male may have been murdered at another location and his body dumped where it was found. The manner of death will not be released at this time.

Detectives are working to determine when and where the victim was killed, as well as the circumstances surrounding his death. Detectives are also working in conjunction with the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine his identity.

The victim is a Black male believed to be in his 20s or 30s. He was wearing a red soccer- style T-shirt with white stripes and dark-colored shorts.
