Palm Street Incident

Rochester, NY - Last night, around 10:10pm, Officers responded to a house in the 100 block of Palm Street for the report of a burglary in progress. The victim reported that he was in a car in the driveway when a masked suspect approached inquiring about marijuana sales. The victim further reported that he scared the suspect off and ran into his house. When entering his house, he heard multiple additional suspects in the house, who ran out of the back door.
When Officers arrived, they encountered 18-year old Troy Owens running from the back of the house. Officers safely took him into custody a few houses away and recovered an AR-15 style firearm, loaded with 28 rounds, from him.
Owens was transported to the Monroe County Jail and is expected to be arraigned this morning in Rochester City Court.
Anyone with information regarding the additional suspects is encouraged to call 911.
Troy Owens, age 18, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, and Burglary in the 1st Degree.
