N. Clinton Avenue Burglary Arrest

Rochester, NY - On August 12, Officers responded to the Taylor Square Apartments, 1155 North Clinton Avenue, for the report of a burglary. The investigation found that on August 9, a suspect entered to apartment building and cut out multiple pieces of copper piping. As a result of cutting the copper piping, the air conditioning system was rendered inoperable with an estimated $17,000 worth of damage. Due to the air conditioning system damage, multiple elderly residents of the building were relocated until repairs could be made.

Clinton Section Officers reviewed security footage and identified the suspect as 41-year old Eric Holmes from previous arrest(s). On August 29, Officers located Holmes near the corner of Remington Street and Wilkins Street. He immediately ran from Officers and was safely apprehended on Seabrook Street, after a foot chase.

Holmes was transported to the Monroe County Jail, where he is currently being held without bail.

Eric Holmes, age 41, is charged with Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, Petit Larceny, and Resisting Arrest.

Additionally, Holmes had outstanding bench warrants for failing to appear in court relative to his June 16 arrest for Robbery in the 3rd Degree/Petit Larceny and his May 29 arrest for Petit Larceny.
