Alliance Avenue Shooting Arrests

Rochester, NY - On June 19, around 1:15am, Officers responded to the area of the Cobbs Hill Reservoir for the report of a male shot. Officers initially located a crashed Honda that had been struck by at least one bullet and evidence that someone had been shot in the car. With the assistance of the Brighton and Irondequoit Police Departments, along with Drone technology, the victim was located in the woods inside of the park. The 18-year old male was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was transported to Strong Hospital with serious injuries that were later determined to be non-life threatening.

The preliminary investigation found that there was a large party at a short-term rental location in the 1000 block of Monroe Avenue. The victim had left the party heading to his car, parked on Alliance Avenue, when he was shot. He attempted to flee in his car, crashed, and ran into the woods.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Section identified 18-year old Antwaine Vick and 18-year old Nyree Brown as being involved in the attempted robbery and shooting of the victim. Over the past several weeks, the United States Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force located and safely took Vick and Brown into custody.

Antwaine Vick and Nyree Brown have been charged with Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree, Assault in the 1st Degree, Attempted Robbery in the 1st and 2nd Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree.
