Rochester, NY- On Thursday, January 29, 2026, 34-year-old Kendrick Ford was convicted by a Monroe County jury of Rape in the 1st Degree, two counts of Sexual Abuse in the 1st Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child stemming from the ongoing sexual abuse of a child less than thirteen years old.
Between October 31, 2023, and February 26, 2024, Kendrick Ford sexually abused a child under the age of thirteen. The following month, the child disclosed the abuse to a trusted family member, prompting a report to the Rochester Police Department.
The Rochester Police Department’s Special Victims Unit conducted a thorough investigation into the abuse, which ultimately led to an arrest warrant for Kendrick Ford. A Monroe County Grand Jury indictment was unsealed on November 29, 2024, charging the defendant with rape and sexual abuse.
The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Kaylee Rizzari, of the Special Victims Unit.
“Kendrick Ford exploited his access to a young child and committed unimaginable acts of abuse,” said Assistant District Attorney Kaylee Rizzari. “He is someone who should never be entrusted with the care or be in the presence of children. Despite enduring profound trauma, this young survivor demonstrated extraordinary courage by coming forward, cooperating with law enforcement, and testifying against her abuser. Because of her bravery and the relentless work of the Rochester Police Department, Kendrick Ford will no longer be able to harm another child.”
“The crimes committed by Kendrick Ford were horrific and deeply disturbing,” said Monroe County District Attorney Brian Green. “Because of the remarkable courage of a young survivor, a dangerous individual has been held accountable and no longer has an opportunity to victimize another child. I want to thank the survivor and her family, the Rochester Police Department, and Assistant District Attorney Kaylee Rizzari for their dedication in securing this important conviction. If you suspect a child is being abused in any way, I urge you to contact law enforcement or the Child Advocacy Center of Greater Rochester.”
Kendrick Ford will be sentenced on March 4, 2026 in front of New York State Supreme Court Justice Alex Renzi.
