ILLEGAL ALIEN PLEADS GUILTY TO POSSESSING A FIREARM

ree

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced today that Guadalupe Jimenez-Coy, 52, a native of Mexico, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa to being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison, and a fine of $250,000 or both.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles Moynihan, who is handling the case, stated that Jimenez-Coy was arrested on April 3, 2025, in the area of Canandaigua Road, in the Town of Macedon, after members of the Macedon Police Department received a disturbance call for a person who was in possession of a shotgun. The caller reported that a person driving a white sedan removed a blanket from the trunk of his car and unwrapped it, revealing what appeared to be a shotgun. The caller further said that the male, later identified as Jimenez- Coy, entered the driver seat of the sedan, put the shotgun on the front passenger seat, and drove away. Minutes later, Macedon officers stopped the sedan and recovered the shotgun. It was loaded with five rounds of shotgun ammunition. After checking law enforcement records, officers determined that Jimenez-Coy was a citizen of Mexico and was not lawfully permitted to be in the United States.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.

The plea is the result of an investigation by the Macedon Police Department and the United States Border Patrol Rochester Station, under the direction of Patrol Agent in Charge Juan Ramirez, Jr.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. before Judge Siragusa.
