Rochester, NY - The Hochstein School will host a special Veterans Day ceremony on Tuesday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m. in remembrance of those who have served and sacrificed for our country.
The event will feature the Bells of Peace ringing at 11:00 a.m., part of a national commemoration marking the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. The bells will be played by Hochstein faculty member Katie Worley, followed by one minute of silence to honor fallen service members.
Longtime Hochstein friend and former staff member Bruce Aldridge will then perform “Taps,” continuing a meaningful tradition of remembrance at the school.
The ceremony will also include a presentation of colors by the Early College High School Color Guard, and remarks by President/Executive Director Dr. Gary Palmer, reflecting on the legacy of service and the life of David Hochstein, the school’s namesake who gave up a promising musical career to serve in World War I. Hochstein’s observance of Veterans Day honors both the memory of David Hochstein and the courage of all who have served in defense of freedom.
