Monday, Sept. 8: Goodwill Hosts Open House at Main Campus on National 988 Day

Goodwill of the Finger Lakes will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, welcoming the community to its downtown headquarters for tours of its main campus and operations, including manufacturing services and Goodwill Vision Enterprises. The open house is hosted in conjunction with “988 Day,” a national initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the 988 Suicide Prevention Lifeline for mental health services. The lifeline, operated locally by Goodwill of the Finger Lakes, provided 19,623 counseling sessions through calls, texts and chats last year alone. Information about 988 services will be available to open-house attendees, and Goodwill Director of Crisis and Information Services Deb Turner will be available for interviews.
Friday, Sept. 12: Sustainability Under the Stars Upcycled Fashion Show:
Goodwill will host Sustainability Under the Stars, its annual fashion show with a sustainable-focus from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at The Highline Rochester. This one-of-a-kind fashion show features upcycled and curated designs made from Goodwill finds, handcrafted by local artists. The event highlights Goodwill of the Finger Lakes’ commitment to sustainability, which kept 28.7 million pounds of items in circulation last year. All proceeds from the event will benefit Goodwill of the Finger Lakes’ mission impact programs and services. For more information about the event, click here.
