Evans Denies Misconduct, Highlights Record as Irondequoit Supervisor

Updated: 2 days ago

Irondequoit Town Supervisor Andraé Evans is pushing back against a petition for his removal from office, calling the effort "unfounded" and instead highlighting what he calls a record of historic progress for the town.

Andrae Evans sought the support of the Irondequoit Democratic Committee Feb 19, 2025. The committee endorsed town Board Member John Perticone instead.
Andrae Evans sought the support of the Irondequoit Democratic Committee Feb 19, 2025. The committee endorsed town Board Member John Perticone instead.

Filed by Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley with the New York State Appellate Division, Fourth Department, the petition seeks Evans’ removal amid allegations he categorically denies.

"I have not violated any anti-harassment or sexual harassment policies. I have not retaliated or intimidated anyone," Evans stated in a press release issued Monday. "The cornerstone of my administration is to have everyone treated with dignity and respect."

While no criminal charges have been filed, Evans framed the petition as politically motivated. “When I ran for public office, I was warned that at some point, someone would attack my reputation for political purposes,” he said.

Evans used the statement to emphasize key accomplishments during his tenure, citing economic, fiscal, and community advancements. Under his leadership, the town earned an A1 bond rating from Moody’s, increased wages for municipal employees, and launched a new town music festival. He also noted the revival of the stalled Backyard Project, which includes a barrier-free playground and performance venue, funded with over $1.3 million.

Additionally, Evans claimed success in securing millions in federal and state funding for housing, infrastructure, and community programming.

“I remain committed to serving the people of Irondequoit with integrity, transparency, and determination,” he said. “The progress we’ve made is very important for Irondequoit’s future survival and success. And we’re just getting started.”

With a tentative start date set for Oct. 20, 2025, the case is proceeding through the appellate division.

In addition, the Irondequoit Town Board issues a second censure on Evans Tuesday, requiring him to complete sexual harassment training within 30 days after he failed to do so as part of his first censure.
