Chili/Thurston Crowd Control

Rochester, NY - Throughout yesterday evening, RPD monitored crowds in the area of Chili and Thurston that were part of an unpermitted music video production.  As the night went on, the crowd which totaled in the hundreds, became more and more tumultuous and several fights began to break out.  Along with the fights, around 8pm, the crowd had taken over the roadway preventing vehicular travel on Chili Ave.  Additional resources were brought in and just after 10pm announcements were made via loudspeaker for the crowd to disperse.  Rather than disperse, members of the crowd began to throw glass bottles and other objects at the Officers.  Crowd dispersal techniques, including the use of PLS (Pepper Ball), were utilized and the crowd dispersed.

There were no arrests made and no injuries were reported.
