N. Clinton Avenue Shooting Arrest

Rochester, NY - On August 17, around 10:15pm, Officers responded to the 800 block of N. Clinton Avenue for a ShotSpotter activation. Responding Officers learned that there was a fight at the location and shots were fired. A short time later, a male in his 30s arrived at Rochester General Hospital suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the lower body.

The preliminary investigation by Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Section’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit found that there was a large gathering in the parking lot of 886 N. Clinton, for a memorial, and a fight broke out. During the fight, the suspect fired at least one round into the crowd, striking the victim. Detectives and Clinton Section Officers ultimately identified 19-year old Eric Brock as the suspected shooter. Yesterday, The United States Marshal’s Task Force and Monroe County Probation located Brock on Jewel Street and safely took him into custody.

Brock was arraigned in Rochester City Court and is currently being held in the Monroe County Jail on $15,000 bail.

Eric Brock, age 19, is charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree. He is currently on Probation for Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
