Ayette Jordan Takes the Helm as Executive Director of Rochester's Historic Little Theatre

Rochester’s historic East End art house cinema has a new leader. The Little Theatre appointed Ayette Jordan (she/her) as its new Executive Director.


"The Little is quintessential Rochester,” Jordan said. “I am thrilled to be joining such an iconic institution and wonderful team."


In her new role, Jordan will assume responsibility for providing overall guidance, supervision, and direction at The Little, with a specific focus on fundraising and development.

Prior to joining The Little, Jordan was Director of Development and Community Engagement at The Hochstein School in Rochester, NY, where she managed all development initiatives for the organization. Before that, she held the position of Director of Development for Garth Fagan Dance, also based in Rochester, NY. Her track record of accomplishments in the nonprofit and fundraising arena has earned her accolades as a dynamic and accomplished leader.

“Ayette is a dynamic leader with an impressive list of accomplishments in the nonprofit and fundraising arena,” Norm Silverstein, President and CEO of WXXI and the Little Theatre Film Society said.

Jordan will officially assume her new position as Executive Director of The Little on August 7.

Beyond her professional achievements, she is a development expert with over 15 years of leadership experience in fundraising. Jordan has worked at higher education institutions in the northeast including the University of Rochester, Syracuse University, and Bank Street College in New York City.


Jordan has raised substantial funds for mission driven organizations, and is highly skilled in institutional advancement, volunteer management and support, donor relations, conceptualizing and executing events, and special project management.


Passionate about community building and youth mentoring, Jordan actively volunteering for local organizations such as the YMCA and YWCP. She is a supporter of the arts in all forms and has a profound love for travel and exploring new places and cultures. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from SUNY Brockport and an Executive Masters in Communications Management from the prestigious Newhouse School at Syracuse University.
