Artists Unlimited Presents Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

ree

Rochester, N.Y. — More than 500 tickets remain for the final two performances of Artists Unlimited’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat — and the cast is counting on the community to help fill the seats, raise the roof, and send them off with the thunderous applause they deserve.

For these extraordinary performers, many of whom are developmentally disabled, the standing ovations mean everything. After months of rehearsal, they’re ready to take their final bows this Friday and Saturday at the Greece Central Performing Arts Center, and Artists Unlimited is calling on Rochester to show up and celebrate their incredible achievement.

“We need Rochester to rally behind these performers,” says Artistic Director Carl Wager. “They’ve poured their hearts into this production, and nothing compares to the look on their faces when the audience rises to their feet. They deserve a full house and a roar of applause.”

Artists Unlimited is a beloved Rochester nonprofit which stages full-scale Broadway musicals with primarily developmentally disabled casts, producing joy-filled, professional-level performances that leave audiences amazed and inspired.

This year’s show, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat — one of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s earliest and most popular works — features a cast of 80 singers and dancers performing on Broadway-quality sets. Audiences came to four performances last weekend and have been raving about the energy, color, and sheer talent onstage.

Among the standouts is Jordan Smith, who stars as Joseph. Jordan, who is high-functioning autistic, has been part of Artists Unlimited for 14 years. His story and performance have become a source of inspiration for many in the autism community and beyond.

Final Performances:

Friday, November 14 at 7:00 PM & Saturday, November 15 at 2:00 PMGreece Central Performing Arts Center, 800 Long Pond Road, Rochester, NY

Let’s fill every seat, raise every voice, and give these remarkable performers the standing ovation they’ve earned.
