Weekend Firearm Arrests:

Bidwell Terrace:

Around 1:20pm, on October 26, Officers responded to the 100 block of Bidwell Terrace for the report of people fighting and that someone had fired a shot. Further information was received that the suspect fled in a blue Ford Explorer. Later in the afternoon, around 4:30pm, Officers located the suspect vehicle and stopped it in the 500 block of Driving Park. Officers detained three people from the vehicle and drafted a search warrant. During the search, a .40 caliber Taurus handgun, loaded with 11 rounds, was recovered from the vehicle.


The investigation found that 25-year old Shyi Sims, a passenger in the vehicle, allegedly fired a shot during the argument.


Shyi Sims, age 25, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, and Prohibited Use of a Weapon.


Lashanda Johnson, age 31, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, and Criminal Impersonation.


Frederick Johnson, age 30, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree.


Ringle Street:


On October 24, around 1:40pm, Officers assigned to the Chili Avenue and Thurston Road area stopped a 2017 Jeep, on Ringle Street, for violation(s) of the Vehicle and Traffic Law. During the subsequent investigation, Officers located a 9mm Springfield XD handgun, loaded with 16 rounds, and a quantity of suspected crack cocaine. The operator, 48-year old Adonis Wiggins, was transported to the Monroe County Jail.


Adonis Wiggins, age 48, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, Operating Without a License, and Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle.


Borchard Street:


Just before 6am, on October 26, Officers responded to a house on Oscar Street for the report of people shooting. As Officers responded to the scene, they observed people leaving the back door of a vacant home, then heard a gunshot from the backyard, and observed someone running. While checking the area, they located 18-year old Samuel White hiding behind a car. Upon seeing Officers, White dropped a 9mm Glock handgun, which was loaded with four rounds in a 19 round magazine, on the ground. Additionally, the handgun was found to have been reported stolen in 2021 from the City of Rochester. White was transported to the Monroe County Jail.


Samuel White, age 18, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd and 3rd Degree. White was also charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree and Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree for his actions on October 26, 2025, during which time he allegedly pointed a handgun at a victim on Tracy Street and stole property.
