St. Paul Street Shooting Arrest:

On June 2, a little after 4pm, Officers responded to the area of St. Paul Street and Whittier Park for the report of gunshots heard. A short time later, a 21-year old male arrived at Rochester General Hospital suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds to the torso area. The preliminary investigation found that there was a fight between multiple people and that the suspect pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots, some of them

striking the victim.


During the course of the investigation, Detectives from the Criminal Investigation identified 23-year old Shawn Wilson as the suspected shooter. It was also learned that Wilson had allegedly raped a teenage girl the day before in the same area of St. Paul Street.


Yesterday, members of the Rochester Police Department’s Tactical Unit and SWAT Team located Wilson on Fetzner Road, in the Town of Greece, and safely took him into custody. He was transported to the Monroe County Jail.


Shawn Wilson, age 23, Town of Greece Resident is charged as follows:

  • Rape in the 1st Degree for his actions on June 1, 2025.

  • Assault in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree for his actions on June 2, 2025.

  • Six outstanding warrants that are drug and gun related from Fulton County Georgia.
