Rosewood Terrace Shooting Arrest

Rochester, NY - Around 12:30pm, yesterday, Officers responded to the 100 block of Rosewood Terrace for the report of a male shot. Officers located the victim, a 21-year old male, who was shot at least once in the upper body. He was transported to Strong Hospital for serious, life-altering injuries.
The preliminary investigation found that there was an argument amongst neighbors that turned physical. The suspect allegedly struck the victim with a hammer and then shot him at least once before fleeing the scene. Detectives from the Non-Fatal Shooting Unit quickly identified the suspect and the Tactical Unit began apprehension efforts. Early this morning, the suspect was safely taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Jail.
19-year old Malikai Solomon is charged with Assault in the 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree.
The victim remains in serious, but stable condition at Strong Hospital.
