Rochester, N.Y. — Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester (RMHCR) is joining forces again with the Rochester Red Wings for the annual Hits for the House fundraiser, an event that transforms every hit into hope for families in need.
Since 2022, the event has been supported by local McDonald’s owner/operators, whose sponsorship helps RMHCR provide essential services for families facing medical challenges. As part of the event, McDonald’s owner/operator Louis Buono will have the honor of throwing out the first pitch.
This year introduces a new feature: the House to Home mobile medical unit will be on display in the VIP parking lot. This initiative supports families with children who have complex medical conditions, providing an exclusive look at the services offered by RMHCR.
“It’s for children in the complex care program at Golisano Children’s Hospital and once they are released, we can come to their home and we can bring specialized telehealth so that they can have their follow up visit in the comfort of their own home," said Amy Hall, senior director for Grants and Institutional giving for RMHCR. The nonprofit has already raised more than $120,000 this year to support families in need.
