Rochester, N.Y. – Visit Rochester is honored to announce that Rochester, NY came in second place in USA TODAY's 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for the “Best Place to Visit for Fall”.  An expert panel selected the list of 20 nominees and public voting decided the results of the top ten. Only sitting behind Michigan’s Mackinac Island, this recognition illuminates Rochester’s outdoor scenery, perfectly suited for unforgettable leaf peeping, and its seasonal activities, including apple picking and harvest celebrations.

“Each fall, visitors are captivated by Rochester’s vibrant landscapes, scenic trails, and the cheerful experiences that make our destination a place they love to return to,” said Don Jeffries, President & CEO of Visit Rochester. “We are thrilled to be recognized among many beautiful destinations, including others in New York and New England.”

This fall, Visit Rochester encourages visitors to soak up the city’s seasonal wonders. For inspiration, Visit Rochester released its Ultimate Fall Bucket List and Things to Do This Fall with suggestions such as picking pumpkins at a local farm, enjoying an adult craft beverage from the area’s wineries, breweries and distilleries, or admiring the fall foliage along an area nature trail or park. Locals and visitors can also enjoy numerous fall-themed events, such as Fall Harvest Fest at Stokoe Farms, Halloween at the Market, Fall on the Farm at Long Acre Farms, and so much more.
