Overnight Gun Arrests


Reynolds Street:


Around 10:45pm, last night, Officers responded to the 200 block of Reynolds Street for the report of a menacing with a handgun. Officers located the suspect in the passenger seat of a 2014 Ford Fusion. Further investigation located a 9mm “ghost gun”, loaded with ten rounds. The suspect, 29-year old Christopher Singleton was safely taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Jail.


Christopher Singleton, age 29, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd and 3rd Degree.



Bay Street:


At 12:45am, this morning, Officers responded to the 600 block of Bay Street for the report of a stolen vehicle. Officers located the 2017 Kia and confirmed that it had previously been reported stolen. The operator, 25-year old William Day, was found to be sleeping behind the wheel of the car. Officers safely took him into custody and located a .300 blackout caliber AR-15 style pistol, loaded with 12 rounds. Further investigation found that Day also allegedly fired at least one round from the rifle on April 7 on Ackerman Street. Thankfully, no one was injured during that incident. Day was transported to the Monroe County Jail and charged as follows:


William Day, age 25, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree.


He was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree and Prohibited Use of a Weapon relating to the incident on Ackerman Street from April 7.
