Murder Update- Arrest made: 154 Spencer St.

The woman murdered on Spencer St on 8/15/25 has been identified as 31-year-old Abagail Perez of 154 Spencer St. The suspect who stabbed and killed her is identified as 21-year-old Javier Justice. The two lived together on Spencer St, were involved in a relationship, and have a child in common.

Justice remains hospitalized from his gunshot wounds but is expected to be released in the near future. He has been charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree and is scheduled to be arraigned at a time still to be determined tomorrow in the hospital.

Javier Justice was arrested last month by RPD officers for Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, Assault in the 3rd Degree, and Larceny after he allegedly choked and punched Perez in the face and stole her cell phone. He was arraigned on those charges in Rochester City Court and released on his own recognizance.

Javier is also currently under indictment for a Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree charge for a shooting incident that occurred in 2023. It appears that charge is still pending final adjudication.

The man who shot Javier Justice while Justice was stabbing Abagail Perez has been identified and is cooperating with the investigation. He has not been charged with any crime.
