Rochester, NY - On May 7, 2026 the Rochester Police Department was contacted by family members of 29-year-old Majesty Montgomery, who advised they had not seen or heard from Majesty for over 24 hours. While interviewing family members, and during the course of the preliminary investigation, information was developed that raised concerns she may have been the victim of a crime. As a result, members of the Major Crimes Homicide Unit commenced their investigation.
The investigation progressed, and during the evening hours of 5/8/26 information was developed that led RPD Homicide detectives to a large piece of land in Yates County, NY. While walking the property, an area was found that appeared to have been recently disturbed. The area was dug up and the body of Majesty Montgomery was found buried several feet underground.
Upon examination by the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office, the manner of death was ruled a Homicide. The exact cause will not be released at this time.
Detectives believe that Majesty Montgomery was murdered at 32 ½ Austin St. in the City of Rochester. After being killed her body transported and buried on the property in Yates County.
This is an active and ongoing investigation and no further details will be released at this time.
