Rochester, NY - On March 26, 2026, officers were called to 476 Lyell Ave for the report of a deceased male. Upon arrival, they located 40-year-old Curtis Wilson dead on the side porch of 476 Lyell Ave. After an examination by the Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office, his death is being investigated as a homicide. The cause of death will not be disclosed at this time.
As a result of the investigation thus far, it appears Wilson became involved in an altercation at or near the location, which ultimately led to him being murdered. There are no additional details to be released at this time.
The multi-family dwelling at 476 Lyell Ave. contains several vacant apartments. The porch where Wilson was found is attached to one of those vacant apartments. The location, as well as the vacant fields behind the residence, are often used by drug users and homeless individuals.
