Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested in Domestic Offense

On March 16, 2026, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Section arrested Sean Mayo as part of an ongoing investigation. There were no reported injuries to the victim.
Sean E. Mayo, 44, of Penfield, is charged with:
Criminal Contempt in the First Degree (Class E-Felony)
Stalking in the Third Degree (Class A-Misdemeanor)
Mayo turned himself in to investigators on today’s date, and deputies transported Mayo to Monroe County CAP court for arraignment. Following the arraignment, a judge set bail in the amount of $2,500 cash or bond.
Mayo is currently employed with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office as a Police Bureau Deputy and is suspended pending an internal investigation.
