Around 11am, we responded to the intersection of Main and Exchange for the report of a pedestrian struck. The preliminary investigation found that the victim, a male in his 40s, was travelling eastbound on Main St, crossing Exchange, on a bicycle, when he was struck by a southbound vehicle. The male was transported to Strong Hospital with serious injuries that have thankfully been determined to be non-life threatening.
The striking vehicle, a gray suv, fled the scene. Officers are working to identify and locate both the vehicle and the operator. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 911. Exchange St between Broad and Main was closed for a period of time but will be re-opening shortly.
