With the holiday season quickly approaching, Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, is partnering with Reimer Home Services to help ensure no bowl goes empty this Thanksgiving. As pet food pantry supplies run low at a time when many local families face increased financial pressures, the partnership aims to raise awareness of the growing need for pet food assistance and encourage community members to donate dry or canned dog and cat food and treats. Together,Lollypop Farm and Reimer Home Services hope to replenish pantry shelves and help families throughout the Greater Rochester region keep their beloved pets fed and cared for during the holiday season and beyond.

According to PetSmart Charities, nearly 83% of pet owners say they would feed their pets before themselves. Lollypop Farm’s Pet Pantry aims to ease that difficult choice by providing essential food and supplies to families and individuals, helping them keep their beloved pets fed without sacrificing their own basic needs. Over the past two years, the Pet Pantry has distributed more than 100,000 pounds of food and supplies, serving as a critical resource for families throughout the area. With pantry supplies currently running low, community donations are more important than ever to ensure this vital support remains available to those who need it most.

“Food insecurity puts many within our community in the heartbreaking position of making impossible choices, including whether they can afford to feed their beloved pets or even put food on their own tables,” said Alice Calabrese, President and CEO of Lollypop Farm. “For some, the lack of resources can mean having to surrender a cherished companion simply because they can no longer afford to care for them. Lollypop Farm’s Pet Pantry helps reduce that burden, providing critical support to families so they can keep their pets healthy, fed, and at home where they belong. This program is made possible by the generosity of our community, and we’re incredibly grateful to Reimer Home Services for recognizing the importance of this work and helping us ensure that no bowl goes empty this Thanksgiving. With pantry supplies running low, we hope this partnership inspires others to join us in supporting the families and pets who need us most.”

Community members are encouraged to help replenish Lollypop Farm’s Pet Pantry by donating dry or canned dog and cat food and treats. Donations can be dropped off inside the main lobby at Lollypop Farm’s campus, located at 99 Victor Road in Fairport, N.Y. 14450 or by visiting the organization’s wish list. Every donation helps ensure people can continue caring for their beloved pets this holiday season and beyond.
