Lexington Avenue Gun Arrest

Early this morning, Officers were conducting a STRIVE (Statewide Targeted Reductions in Intimate Partner Violence) Detail attempting to locate a wanted suspect, 31-year old Omar Muhammad. Muhammad was being sought for his actions on November 2, 2025, in which he allegedly broke down the door of a former domestic partner’s house and proceeded to menace her with a handgun, steal property, and assault her.

Just after 2am, this morning, Officers located and apprehended Muhammad leaving a vehicle in the 500 block of Lexington Avenue. During the subsequent investigation, Officers located a Ruger 57 handgun loaded with 20 rounds, and over 9 ounces of suspected cocaine/fentanyl mixture in a vacuum-sealed package. Muhammad was transported to the Monroe County Jail and is expected to be arraigned this morning in Rochester City Court.

Omar Muhammad, a 31-year old Irondequoit resident, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st and 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd and 3rd Degree for his actions early this morning.

Additionally, Muhammad is charged with Robbery in the 2nd Degree, Burglary in the 1st Degree, Assault in the 2nd Degree, and Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree for his actions on November 2, 2025.
