Latinx Art & Culture Celebration at International Plaza Saturday

The Second Annual Latinx Art & Culture Celebration—hosted by Geva Theatre in collaboration with the City of Rochester, Borinquen Dance Theatre, Ibero-American Action League, and the Father Tracy Advocacy Center—will take place on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 12 to 2 p.m., at The International Plaza, 828 N. Clinton Ave.

The highlight of this free celebration will be two performances by Borinquen Dance Theatre of Pedro and the Wolf, an urban, Latinx adaptation of Sergei Prokofiev’s classic ballet Peter and the Wolf.

The reimagined production, adapted by Jayme Bermudez, Andrew Rodriguez, and Adrian Franco, offers a fresh and vibrant take on the beloved story.

Following the performances, attendees will have the chance to dance with the Pedro and the Wolf characters. Additionally, there will be art-making activities led by artists Tania Day-Magallon and Rafael DeGuzman.

Geva Theatre will provide a complimentary frozen treat from an International Plaza vendor to each attendee.
