International Plaza Opens This Sunday with New Festivities & Celebrations

The International Plaza

The City’s International Plaza opens for its third full season this Sunday, May 7.

The marketplace and event space is located at 828 N. Clinton Ave., and will be open Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. through October 15.

On opening night, there will be festivities celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a cultural celebration of Mexican heritage, with new vendors and special performances by Alma de Mexico, officials say.

Musical entertainment will be provided by La Marimba, Grupo Alteños del norte, Byron Noble and Ellas.

The international-themed market offers a Latin flair with Market days full of entertainment, family-oriented, cultural activities, and offers vendor opportunities for entrepreneurs and established businesses. The gathering space celebrates the arts and cultural assets of the El Camino Neighborhood and also serves as an incubator for neighborhood economic development in the El Camino community.

Vendors who are interested in participating can apply for a kiosk, pop-up tent or carts. Spaces begin at $20 per week with discounts available for multiple days and full season rates. Additionally, vendors are eligible to receive business assistance through the Ibero-American Development Corporation by calling (585) 256-8900 ext.125 or visiting www.iberobusinesscenter.org.

For more information and to obtain a vendor application, visit www.cityofrochester.gov/internationalplaza or call Lisandra Mandez, the International Plaza Manager, (585) 451-5676.

The International Plaza is a community development project managed in partnership with the Ibero-American Development Corporation and the City of Rochester.
