Hudson/Warsaw Crash

(October 27, 2026) Around 3:30pm, Officers responded to the intersection of Hudson Avenue and Warsaw Street for the report of a pedestrian struck. Officers located an adult aged male that was sadly deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation has found that a City of Rochester owned and operated garbage truck was travelling eastbound on Warsaw Street, attempting to make a left turn (northbound) onto Hudson Avenue. At the same time, a male was operating a motorized wheel chair northbound on Hudson Avenue, in the west side shoulder of the roadway, when he was struck by the left turning truck.
The driver of the truck, a male in his 50s, was not injured. At this point in the investigation, it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor with the driver of the truck.
The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information, including video, is encouraged to call 911.
