On August 8, around 12:05am, Officers were notified of a walk-in gunshot victim at Strong Hospital. The victim, a 23-year old male had at least one, non-life threatening, gunshot wound to the upper body. The preliminary investigation led Officers to Hoff Street, near Laser Street, where evidence of gunfire was located.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Section’s Non-Fatal Shooting Team learned that a family member of the victim was involved in a domestic dispute with 35-year old Keshawn Jennings. This dispute escalated when Jennings fired multiple rounds from a handgun at both the victim and his family member, striking the victim. On August 20, the United States Marshal’s Service Task Force located Jennings in the 1100 block of Lake Avenue and safely took him into custody, where they found him in possession of suspect cocaine and fentanyl.
Detectives then executed a search warrant at his residence located additional suspected cocaine. Keshawn Jennings, age 35, is charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree for his actions on August 8. Additionally, he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia for his drug possession on August 20.
He was arraigned in Rochester City Court and is being held without bail at the Monroe County Jail.
