GoodSchoolsRoc Application Portal Temporarily Paused for System Upgrade June 1–5

The GoodSchoolsRoc.org charter school application portal will be temporarily unavailable from June 1-5 as it undergoes a platform upgrade to enhance the user experience.

Beginning on June 1 at 8 p.m., no new applications will be accepted through the GoodSchoolsRoc.org portal as the system transitions to a new host. This migration will improve the application process through a more user-friendly, mobile-optimized interface, enhanced privacy and security features, auto-save functionality, and expanded language translations.

While online applications will be paused, the GoodSchoolsRoc.org website will remain accessible, and families can continue to view school information, including enrollment, program offerings and academic data. Parents may request a paper application directly from schools during the transition, if necessary. GoodSchoolsRoc.org will resume accepting applications on June 5 at 9 a.m.

More than 9,000 children are enrolled in Rochester’s 27 K-12 charter school locations. Rochester charter schools have more than 2,000 openings each year, including nearly 1,000 openings at the Kindergarten level. Charter schools continue to enroll students for this fall.

“This upgrade continues our efforts to make school choice easier and more accessible for Rochester families,” said Sebrone O. Johnson, CEO EDceptional, which runs the GoodSchoolsRoc program. “All children should have access to a good public school, and we encourage families to learn about their options and choose a school that is right for their child.”

GoodSchoolsRoc is a program of EDceptional, a charter sector support organization focused on improving educational outcomes for students in the city of Rochester. EDceptional is the only organization supporting all local charter schools to achieve enrollment goals and academic excellence. Learn more at EDceptional.org
