Final ROC the Block Community Job Fair, This Wednesday, Sept. 25 at Parcel 5
The final ROC the Block Community Employment Fair will take place 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25 at Parcel 5, 285 E. Main St.
ROC the Block Community Employment Fairs are neighborhood-based hiring initiatives that bring together businesses and recruiters with job seekers set against the backdrop of a fun, local, block-party styled event.
In addition to discovering employment opportunities, residents can meet with, and learn about community resource opportunities. More than 175 employers and agencies will be in attendance, including Amazon, University of Rochester, and Auto Zone.
Members of the City’s Office of Management and Budget will be at Wednesday’s Employment Fair for the first of seven pop-up community events to gather community input on the City’s fiscal year 2025-2026 budget. Mayor Evans will submit his budget proposal to City Council by May 9, 2025 and is continuing his tradition of seeking public input early in the budget preparation process to ensure public input effectively informs budget decisions.
In addition to the seven pop-up events, the City has launched an online survey and will host a telephone town hall on Oct. 28. To take the survey or see the full list of pop-up events, visit www.cityofrochester.gov/budget.
The events are hosted by City Council President Miguel Meléndez, the City/County RASE Commission and the City Department of Recreation and Human Services.
