Doran Street Shooting Arrest

Rochester, NY - On June 26, around 2:20pm, Officers responded to Doran Street for a family trouble with an update that there was possibly a male shot. Officers arrived and located a male in his 30s suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim refused treatment from the ambulance and was not transported to the hospital. The preliminary investigation found that there was an argument amongst family members during which time 33-year old Aaron Wiggins allegedly fired one shot from a handgun, striking the victim.
Today, the United States Marshal’s Task Force located Wiggins leaving a house on Locust Street. He was safely taken into custody by task force members and found in possession of a loaded Smith & Wesson handgun. Wiggins was transported to the Monroe County Jail and charged as follows:
Aaron Wiggins, age 33, is charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree.
