Dewey Avenue Investigation


Rochester, NY - On 6/17/26, at approximately 7:30 p.m. the Rochester Police Department responded to the 100 block of Dewey Ave. for the report of a male armed with a firearm, threatening individuals. 


Upon arrival officers located a 56 year old, male, Wayne County resident as well as a 39 year old, female, City of Rochester resident, neither of whom was injured during this incident.  Both advised that during the course of a verbal altercation with a male suspect, whom they’re acquainted with, said suspect threatened them with a firearm. 


As part of the investigation, Dewey Ave. as well as Durkin Al. were closed between Jones Ave. and Costar St.  All roads in the area have since reopened. 


At this time there are no suspects in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
