ree

Rochester, NY- On October 18, around 4am, Officers responded to a house in the 100 block of Dayton Street for the report of an altercation involving a handgun. As Officers arrived to the scene, 23-year old Jahnay Rust, who matched the suspect description given by the 911 caller, opened the front door. Upon seeing Officers, Rust draped a flag over the front door, in order to conceal Officers view, and retreated back inside. The occupants then turned the interior lights of the house off. Officers began to surround the house, at which time Rust attempted to flee via a window in the rear of the house, but was safely taken into custody in the backyard. A short time later, 18-year old Syanna Williams, exited the front door of the house and was safely taken into custody; there were no other occupants.

Based upon information gathered during the investigation, Officers drafted a search warrant for the residence.
