ROCHESTER, NY – September 18, 2025 – Compeer Rochester announces its 2025 Kickstarter event, a free evening to celebrate friendship leading up to its signature annual walk, The Compeer Mile, which aims to make the world less lonely beginning with the Rochester community.
The kick-off event will take place on Thursday, September 25, from 5:00–7:30 p.m. at La Bola Restaurant (240 E. Main Street, Rochester). The free event will include light fare, raffles, and entertainment. The proceeds provide critical funds that directly support Compeer Rochester’s mental wellness programs, including volunteer mentoring for children, adults and veterans across Monroe County. This year’s fundraising goal is $15,000.
“Compeer Rochester’s model is built on friendship and community connections,” said Sara Passamonte, CEO at Compeer Rochester. “Through this event, community members have the unique opportunity to invest directly in programs that transform lives through supportive, compassionate friendships. Together, we can tackle loneliness and make a meaningful impact.”
Supporters can RSVP online now at:
The event is meant to bring attention to Compeer’s fall fundraiser, The Compeer Mile, which is slated for November 2 in Downtown Rochester, when the community comes together to celebrate the power of connection and the importance of mental wellness.
