Broad Street Hit and Run Arrest

Rochester, NY- On August 15, around 10:30pm, Officers responded to the intersection of West Broad Street and Orange Street for the report of a pedestrian struck. Officers located 49-year old Moresee Chatman, deceased from injuries relating to having been hit by a car. The preliminary investigation found that Chatman was crossing West Broad Street and was struck by a 2012 Ford Fusion, which fled the scene.
On August 20, Detectives located the suspect vehicle in the 400 block of Thurston Road. A search warrant was executed on the vehicle and it was processed by the Rochester Police Department’s Technician’s Unit. Suspect information was obtained and yesterday, September 15, 27-year old Demingo Hinton-Diggs turned himself in to Detectives. He was issued appearance tickets for the following charges:
Demingo Hinton-Diggs, age 27, is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Causing Death, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Operating Without Insurance, and Unlicensed Operator.
