Rochester, NY - On June 2, 2026 at about 1:30 pm, a suspect entered the bank, handed the teller a note, threatening that he had a weapon, and demanded money. The suspect had his hand in his pocket as if he was concealing a firearm, although none was seen.
After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the bank. Information was developed the suspect may have used a vehicle. During the preliminary investigation a good description of that vehicle was developed. Based on the parameters of that description, a privately owned license plate reader in the area assisted in developing a plate number for the suspect vehicle.
At about 7:30 pm on June 2, 2026 Officers observed the suspect vehicle in the area of Ave D and Joseph Ave. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver and sole occupant, 30-year-old Naquan White, sped off, crashing into a curb near Remington St. He attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly apprehended.
As the investigation continued, a search warrant was executed at White’s residence (City of Rochester) and evidence pertinent to the bank robbery was recovered.
Naquan White has been charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree. He is expected to be arraigned in CAB Court at 5:30 pm. . White was released from prison last month on a federal weapons conviction and is currently on federal probation for that conviction. As a result, future federal charges may be considered.
