Rochester Hope N. Clinton Food Pantry Debuts Services to the Community

The Rochester Hope N. Clinton Food Pantry has recently opened its pantry doors for the northeast community at St. Michael’s Church, 859 N. Clinton St., Rochester, N. The pantry opened on Saturday, August 12.


The organization partnered with FoodLink, Inc. to open the food pantry at St. Michael’s serves one of the neediest city zip codes and will be open in this first phase Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.


The pantry celebrated with a small soft opening and will have its grand opening on April 1, 2024, with more hours and modalities of service.


The Rochester Hope N. Clinton Food Pantry is an organization that is run entirely by volunteers and 100 percent of donations go to direct services to stock the pantry shelves.

The organization is in need 3 kinds of volunteers:

  1. Client Facing or Front Room Volunteers: These volunteers assist clients in filling in their paperwork and in making healthy choices as they select items from the shelves. These volunteers will work 3.5 hour shifts. Saturday 9 am - 12:30 pm or Saturday 12:30 pm - 4pm and will sign up for a shift through an online scheduling system.   2. Back Room volunteers: will come in on a weekday for a four hour shift. These volunteers need to be able to lift more than 10 pounds and will receive deliveries, restock the pantry and pre packaged orders from clients. They will sign up for a shift through an online scheduling system. We need 2-4 volunteers for each shift.   3. Transportation Volunteers: These volunteers will work on the days and hours that our back room volunteers are working. These volunteers will pick up donations from different locations and deliver them to the pantry and/or take prepackaged groceries to clients homes from the pantry. These volunteers need to be able to lift more than 10 pounds. They will sign up for a shift through an online scheduling system. We need 4 volunteers for each shift. If you want to make a donation in kind we will be gratefully accepting donations of nonperishable food items as well as cleaning products and hygiene items are being accepted now at 869 N Clinton Ave, Saturdays from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm and at 80 Prince Street Monday - Wednesday 9:30 am - 1:30 pm.
