Our Businesses Can't Afford to Be Left Behind in the AI Economy

For generations, Black and Brown entrepreneurs have built businesses with limited resources, stretched budgets, and an unmatched ability to make something out of nothing. That hustle, creativity, and resilience have carried our communities through countless challenges. But today, there’s a new challenge emerging.

The reality is that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already changing how businesses attract customers, create marketing content, manage operations, and grow revenue. Large companies are investing heavily in these tools, but too many small businesses in our communities are still on the sidelines, unsure of where to start or whether AI is even for them.
That's a problem.
If we are serious about closing wealth gaps, creating economic opportunity, and building stronger communities, we must make sure our entrepreneurs are not the last to access the tools shaping the future of business.
That's why we're hosting SB+AI: From Awareness to Action, a free symposium on June 23 at REOC from 8:45 a.m. until 5 p.m. This event is designed to make AI practical, accessible, and relevant for everyday business owners, nonprofit leaders, creators, and entrepreneurs.
The businesses that learn, adapt, and embrace innovation will be best positioned to grow. My hope is that our community doesn't just participate in the AI economy, we help lead it.
The future is already here. Let's make sure we're ready for it.
