Monroe County Family Coalition to Host Community Event on Sept. 3 at Mt. Olivet


Monroe County Family Coalition, Inc. (MCFC) will host its third annual back-to-school bash on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

MCFC is collaborating with Family First Federal Credit Union Greece Branch as presenting sponsor, Mount Olivet Baptist Church, area businesses, and nonprofit organizations to help youth and families enjoy the last days of summer and get ready for the new school year.

At the event, community members will explore more than 30 vendor tables and participate in a backpack drive and raffle with an HP 14” Screen Laptop as the grand prize. Families will also be able to visit a video gaming truck, barber, and salon stations. The back-to-school bash will feature free food, interactive activities, entertainment, and a pet therapy station.

Dina Johnson, founder, and president of Monroe County Family Coalition, and a representative from Family First Credit Union will address attendees during the opening ceremony. The keynote speaker of the event is Senator Samra Brouk, Representing New York’s 55th District. Caswell Smith, LMSW, from Rochester City School District will appear as a guest speaker.
