Rochester, NY - On September 5, around 1:45am, Officers were monitoring a crowd that had formed in the 700 block of N. Clinton Avenue. During this time, Officers gained information leading them to believe that a male in the crowd was in possession of a firearm. After dispersing the crowd, Officers attempted to speak with him on Hoeltzer Street and he immediately ran. While running from Officers, he threw a satchel that he was wearing prior to being taken into custody in a backyard on Hoeltzer Street. Officers recovered the satchel, which contained a loaded .45 caliber Colt handgun a quantity of both suspected cocaine and fentanyl, and a digital scale. A check of the handgun’s serial number found that it had been reported stolen in Pennsylvania.

The male was transported to the Monroe County Jail, arraigned in Rochester City Court, and released from custody.
