Happy campers are thriving at the ‘Growing Good’ Summer Enrichment Program at the Foodlink Community Farm on Lexington Avenue
ROCHESTER – This summer, local children are learning about where their food comes from, how they can create a better world through Rochester Ecology Partner's Growing Good Summer Enrichment Program, held at Foodlink’s Community Farm.
The Growing Good Summer Enrichment Program is a six-week experience that sprouted on July 7 and continues through August 15. Running weekdays, the program engages 1st–6th graders in hands-on learning that blends academic enrichment with outdoor exploration. Rooted in nature and powered by community, this experience helps prevent summer learning loss while engaging kids in growing healthy food, connecting with nature, and building meaningful relationships with one another.
The camp is blossoming alongside exciting developments at the Foodlink Community Farm, where construction is nearly complete on several new features, including additional raised beds for our neighbors, a new Edible Education Center, and a greenhouse that will support year-round learning and food production.
Foodlink’s farm team is contributing to the camp experience, offering instruction between planting, and harvesting. The farm is buzzing with energy, curiosity, and joy!
WHO: Foodlink’s Community Farm Manager, Frank Keophetlasy, Rochester Ecology Partners’ Executive Director Chris Widmaier and campers will be available for interviews.
