Back-to-School Event for Rochester Families

Rochester, NY - PI’s Lounge, in partnership with Copeland Twins Production and a dedicated coalition of local sponsors and community stakeholders, is pleased to announce a Free Back-to-School Event on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Tops Parking Lot, located at 491 West Avenue, Rochester, NY.

This initiative aims to support Rochester children and families in preparing for the upcoming school year by providing complimentary book bags, school supplies, shoes, and clothing. Additionally, it serves as an opportunity to foster collaboration among residents, businesses, elected officials, and community organizations in a collective effort to uplift local youth.

“This event exemplifies the positive outcomes that can be achieved when our community unites around our children. Preparing for a new school year should be a joyous occasion for every child. We strive to ensure that our young people enter school feeling confident, supported, and ready to learn—stepping into greatness and embracing their future,” said Commissioner Jacqueline D. Griffin of the Rochester City School District. “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Larry Copeland Sr., the proprietor of PI’s Lounge, as well as Copeland Twins Production, our sponsors, volunteers, and community partners who are dedicating their time and resources to enrich the lives of Rochester families.”

This event enjoys the continued support of various esteemed community partners, including New York State Senator Jeremy Cooney, the Rochester City School District, Commissioner Jacqueline D. Griffin, and Rochester City Council Vice President LaShay D. Harris, along with 105.5 THE BEAT, 1199SEIU, ABC Head Start, anonymous donors, and several other local organizations.

Please be advised that distribution is limited to two items per household, and footwear will be available in a limited selection of sizes and styles on a first-come, first-served basis. We look forward to welcoming the community to this valuable event.
