Avelo Airlines offering nonstop Flights from Roc to RDU
Avelo Airlines will begin the first nonstop service in 20 years from Rochester, NY to North Carolina’s Research Triangle, Raleigh/Durham International Airport (RDU).
Monroe County Executive Adam Bello made the announcement earlier today.
The ultra low-cost U.S. airlines, headquartered in Houston, Texas, will begin service at ROC on June 14 and will operate this route to RDU twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays on Boeing Next-Generation 737.
“I welcome Avelo Airlines to our community,” Bello said.
“We believe that Avelo’s business model of investing in small, hometown airports fits ROC perfectly, and are excited about their potential to grow and add more nonstop markets to popular vacation destinations.”
Avelo has been operating since April, 2021. Although they fly from more than 40 locations around the country, Rochester is their second New York location—they also fly from Binghamton, NY to Orlando, Florida.
The company says people can start booking flights to RDU now for as low as $39.00
